My Story
I got into drawing and writing kind of by accident. I grew up in Southern California where I attended high school. Then I went to college at San Diego State University where I studied drama and TV and Film. I took one drawing class down there, but I didn't do so well in it. Oh well. After graduating, I moved to the LA area to become an actor. I got a job as a tour guide at Universal Studios and acted a little in plays and TV and even did a few commercials. Meanwhile I worked as a volunteer leader for Young Life at Taft and Reseda High Schools in the San Fernando Valley.
One great day, while at Newport Beach I met my wife, Vicki and we got married in 1982. Now we live in the Northwest and love it. We have an awesome daughter, Christy, a Pembrook Welsh Corgy (Dog) named Maddie (Madison Mae) and a black and white cat named Gracie. When we first moved to Oregon I couldn't find a job doing anything. So I started drawing cartoons and sending them into magazines and they actually ended up buying them! Then I did some illustrating for Harvest House Publishers and ended up doing my own books for them. Since then I've had a chance to do some really fun projects, work with some great people like Focus on the Family, The Charlotte Hornets, The Television Academy and Doubleday and Putnam Publishers and actually get paid for what I love to do.
One of my favorite Bible verses is Jeremiah 29:11. In it, God says "I know the plans I have for you, plans for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope." God's really done that in my life and He's still not done! I pray that you'll get to discover and experience all that He has for you. Thanks for visiting this site, we really hope you like it.
